A late entry into the tourism map, Qatar is, no doubt, set to be the destination for the future in the region.
CLIMATE
Qatar has a moderate desert climate with hot summers and mild winters. From October to March the average daytime temperature is around 34 degrees Celsius and at night about 10 degrees Celsius. From May to September when it is warm, the daytime temperature averages 42 degree Celsius, falling to 18 degree Celsius at night. Annual rainfall rarely tops 100mm and falls mostly in November-December and February-March, often in sudden downpours.
WHAT TO SEE
Most visits to Qatar begin in its capital, Doha, a bayside city half way down the east coast, which is the cultural and commercial hub of the country and inhabits 50% of its population.
Like many cities in the region, Doha is an intriguing mixture of ancient Arabic tradition and modern metropolitan life.
Fronting the Corniche is a sample of ancient and modern architecture, while on the waters of the bay is a picturesque reminder of times past in graceful wooden dhow boats, some still engaged in fishing.
The scenically splendid inland sea at Khor Al Adaid is one of major attractions, among many others, which enriches the tourist products of Qatar. The Al Shaqab Stud farm (owned by H.H. the Emir of Qatar) is a must to visit and is included in our City Tour.
Visits to the souqs are another experience which gives you insight into the traditions of this region. Other popular trips include North of Qatar tours which include visit of the Zubara Fort.
For incentives groups we could offer dinning in the desert, theme events, dhow cruises, and team building events in a private beach. Needless to say reputed hotel properties are already in Qatar while many more are in the pipeline, ensuring high quality accommodation facilities in the future.
Qatar also has an excellent 18 holes Golf Club (Doha Golf Club), an exhibition centre and quite a number of sports facilities which are further being upgraded to international quality standards. |
